Default Em1 custom exhaust routing. (searched)

The stock em1 exhaust and most aftermarket exhaust that i know have pipes that go over the rear passenger side arm. I'm trying to make a custom exhaust and i am womdering if i can make mine go strait back, under the gas tank and then to the muffler, will this be too low? will it scratch like crazy? will the heat screw up the gas tank?

well, if your car is slammed i dont suggest doing a stright setup. i had the same setup and my car was slighly slammed, hit a bump on the freeway and my piping ripped right off.

damn that's horrible, was ure pipe a 3inch? did u put it RIght up to the gas tank? i was gonna do the strait but now i'm scared. but going the other way has so many bends and that'll restrict my exhaust. anyone else have better ideas or experience?

the only way you are gonna be able to run it under your gas tank and not drag the **** out of it is to lift your car. I dont see how you are gonna do this...especially if you have a large exhaust. I have 3 inch and i am lowered 1 inch, and it still drags sometimes, and its in the stock location.

i was running 2 1/2 piping

i actually am planning on running an e-cutout but i was lazy so i didnt wanna have to deal with the extra bends, costs more too. but i guess i will now.

running it over the rear arm doesnt restrict very much flow, at first i had mine routed around the arm, so it was slanted in the back.. Could definitely feel a positive difference when i moved it to go over the arm

i heard about people using the same diameter piping but at the tank part they would knock it so that the pipe is actually squished from a circular shape to an eliptical shape so that it clears more ground. I'm not worrying too much about restrictive flow, i'm more worried about having a buncha bends and plus my muffler that i'm going to use has its inlet on the side (towards the middle of the car and not towards the back) anyone done this for their civic yet? its acutally an evo8 muffler to be exact.

Yes, it will scratch like a *****. Even regular aftermarket exhausts that go over instead of under scratch pretty badly.
