Default b18c1 vtec engagement

so i was going to the ref to try to get bar'd, and i have an apex afc II. i reseted the settings to run on just the stock ecu. i normally had vtec kick in at 5500, and now its running at the stock 4400. i was thinking it should run fine on the stock settings, but now at 4400 is feels like it slows down a little until the secondary butterflies open at 5800.

i was wondering if anyone is just running a stock gsr ecu, and how their vtec cross over feels.

any helpful info would be appreicated.

I had the same question. I have a gsr in a eg so you would think that you could hear the crossover really loud, but at 5300 you can feel a huge difference in sound and the way the car pulls is a p28 a gsr ecu?

wen u gonna get it ref, cuz i heard the vafc is not legal, they might fail u right there, and i thought the first cross over point is really weak and barely notice until it hit 5500 or watever ur car set at, then u'll feel and hear it loud

i'm not worried about hearing the vtec engagement. i just dont think it feels as smoth when its set at 4400 versus 5500. i hid the afc behind the din pockets in my optional audio console. so they didn't see it. just had to fix a hose, and work on my damn smog numbers though.

i dont have anything changed right now. i initialized the vafc, so basically just running the stock ecu. when i had messed with the vtec engagement, when it was set at 5500, it felt so much smother. i'm just saying, the stock setting seems crappy. i would think, since it's stock settings, it would be fine though.

my smog numbers were really really crappy. i dont remember the exact numbers, but for 15 mph, my nox numbers were tripple the max amount. i'm going to replace the cat, o2 sensor, and change out spark plugs. hopefully that should do it. i didn't do any of that stuff, because i had that done when i swapped the motor. but that was back in march.
