Hey I just bought an ED7 recently and it came with a short throw shifter on it. When you put the car in gear you can move the shifter around like it is in neutral. I was wondering if anyone could help me solve this problem. If you need a video of what I mean i'll be glad to make one.

Check your bushing and see what they look like. May have some bad bushing that is creating you sloppy feeling.

Mine did this too. Put urethane shifter bushings in and still didn't solve it.

Turned out to be that the linkage was loose where the bitch pin is. Check for play there.

 

i had the same problem but it turned out it just wanst bolted down tight so look and see if its just the bold under the car.

 

Same problem, it was the bolt that connects the shifter to the tranny. Very easy to fix, really bad to have break when you're going somewhere.
