Need help diagnosing problem
Hi all,
I was driving home from work today and all of a sudden the battery and oil lights come on and my power steering goes out. So I manage to get the car off the highway and attempt to start it up again and when I turn the key to crank up, the starter motor spins and the engine does not turn over.
I know I'm new here but I could really use some help.
Any thoughts??
Thanks

same thing happened to me. Did the tach jump around kind of irraticaly before it stalled?
My problem was the ignitor inside the distributor was fried and i ended up replacing the whole dizzy unit with a re-maned one for about $130. easy install.
The only other thing i can think would be that the t-belt snapped. Was it recently replaced? you can check by removing the distributor cap and have a helper crank the starter. if the distributor rotor spins then youre good. if not, then the t-belt or camshaft(not likely) has snapped.
good luck
