Well I want to get my windows tinted on my dc5 but I am not sure what percentage to get?...I was thinking 20% all around or 20 in the front two windows and like 15% in the back one's. Some pics would help me decide!

I am not concerned about the cops, I had a integra with 5% in the back and like 30% up front and I only got pulled over for it once in like 2 1/2 years. I just need to see how much light will be let through and what it looks like on a rsx. I want it so in the middle of the day you can only see the outline of the driver but not the features. Someone please post some pics!!!

 

Heres mine, the place i did it at didnt have percents, they had differet shades. the sides i went medium light, back i went medium dark. From what people have told me it looks like a 20% / 30%.

2 years now and not one cop has ever told me anything about it.

 

heres mine. 15% all around.

there no point in doing 15/20 front,back because a 5% difference is not that noticeable

 

Thanks for the help guys! One more question...15% looks pretty good but is it hard to see out of at night? I don't want it to be too dark...

 

Nah its not that hard to see once you get used to it. I have 5% on the back and 20% in the front.

 

hey i went 35% with anther 5% over it it in back 3 windows then 35%with 15% up front i think it looks good

can you guys get pics of how the tint on your rear window turned out with all the dot matrix?

 

On mine, they didnt go to the dot matrix, so it looks like a wavy line following it.

 

that BOM rsx is sick y0!

20% tint isn't that bad...

it shouldnt change in price, the film is rediculisly cheap, you pay for the labor hours

 

oh really?....damn, it cost 190 to get it done for my car. i want to redo the quarter windows and back to like 15 or 10 because my fronts are 25 i was going to keep it because if i go 20% its not worth the money...i jus want the backs darker

 

I've got 5% all around. It's not that hard to see out of the windows at night once you get used to it like someone said. I've already gotten pulled over twice now in the last seven months since I bought my car. Here in Wisconsin, legal is 50% in all rear windows and 35% in the front two windows. So, 5% is pretty illegal. I wish my tint was legal because it is fairly difficult to see the interior from outside, but I am going to be taking mine off and getting 25-30% all around so it's not as illegal. I had 25% on my last car and didn't have a problem getting pulled over for that. It all depends whats legal in your area. That's my two cents!

One more question guys? I live in Iowa and right now the temperature is in the upper 30's and upper 40's tom. Does the weather affect tint or should I wait until spring to get it tinted? If it doesn't matter what the temp. is, then I will get it done tom...

 

Hot weather can get the glue to stick a bit better, but the thing about tint is that sometimes they'll tell ya not to use the windows for about a week, so yeah id reccomend the summer, but its not like gonna expletive up anything, unless you like the windows down.
