UPDATE! (About the theft of #670)
Well, I went to Acura today to get a copy of the repair estimate...
Upon looking at the car, I notice that it's been broken into AGAIN!
The insurance company came out on march 8th, and took off the door and trunk locks for "inspection", leaving the car totally unsecured in acuras fenced lot.
While it sat there, some bastards got into it, fukked up the dash board ripping out the stereo head unit, and stole the CD changer out of the trunk.
I'm done. I can't take this **** anymore. Once this is all settled, the R is going away. Its a wonderful society we live in, where someone can't own the car of their dreams without having it repeatedly vandalized and stolen from.
Screw Acura, Screw insurance companies...They both suck in my opinion.

gos dammit! I would normally say "you better flip out on the insurance company" howeve I know you already did. Man I'm sorry for whats going on. It really freaks me out knowing that I will probally be in the same boat as you soon.
Any thoughts on just keeping the car as a track car? Or are you gonna go get a truck or another stang?

Damn man, that sux. My friend had **** stolen off his R while it sat at the dealer as well.
I know how you feel. Its really hard to have faith in a scene in which parts are so desired by theives and so easy to get. Sometimes i contemplate getting rid of my Honda and getting something more practical so i can focus on college and not have to worry about my car all the time..
I just dont know anymore.....hope you find better luck soon

It's sad when you can't trust your car with anyone but yourself (+few others). I have a panic attacks every time i have to take it some where..........you can't even get a fugging alignment or an oil change without loosing your peace of mind!!!!!!!!
Man, I'm so sorry. Now I really feel like a jerk for the email I sent you (talk about bad timing).
I'm sorry man

Dion...come on, if someone left their car in one place for 3 weeks they're asking for someone to break into the car...that's not your fault for the theft and it will happen to any vehicle left for that period of time. This is not a reason to get rid of the itr...worse case scenario you should turn the car into a track only car.
If the insurance company removed the locks without calling you to inform you that you needed to remove any personal/valuable items from the vehicle they should be legally liable for any/all associated costs.

Oh. Believe me Austin.. They Are liable. They had 0 right to do ANYTHING to MY car without my written, or verbal approval. They took parts from MY vehicle (They haven't paid me anything yet.) Without my permission, which is both THEFT, and gross neglegence(leaving a car unlocked, in a obviously unsecure location). I allready have an attourney, and will be persuing this matter with both Acura, and a the insurance company to the fullest.
Damn, that really, really sucks...
...
But, I'm with Austin on this one... I thought it was a bad idea for your car to be sitting in the back lot in the first place, and if it were my car, I would have DEMANDED that my car be pushed into the service garage every night. ****, I would have gone there and pushed it inside myself. I know you don't have a very good standing with this particular dealership, so you should have directed this demand at the insurance company. If you pointed out to them how stupid it was for your car to be sitting out like that and that it would cost them more money if more property was stolen from it, they would have made sure it was put inside...

It is not my responsibility to baby sit my car while the dealership and insurance company have it in their posession. It's theirs. Now, they are both liable for all the additional damages/loss. And isn't it great that I took lots of highly Detailed pictures of the car BEFORE it was dropped off at Acura...
Theyre screwed, and Fred just doesn't know it yet.

Acura Does have a w/o open on the vehicle. I signed it myself! And got a copy of it today. Until I retake posession of the vehicle, Acura is responsible for it.
don't forget to collect money for lost time also...for some reason most courts will throw in a lot of extra cash for "lost time" that you may have suffered for the whole complication...and damn man that sux...
