Not you again, lol, anyways if its the plug i think it is, then NO u dont need it. Just let it hang or whatever. It appears to have been for that sensor only found on 88-91 Si's on the back of the intake manifold. Its not important.

that looks like the coolant temp sensor. all the connectors from a si to b16a swap are needed plus adding the 3 for vtec and knock.

Coolant temp? There's only 2 on the D and B series blocks, and that looks like neither.

What are the colors of the wires on that plug?

I know I didn't use the same exact plug on my B16 swap and if I remember right it was something to do with the fast idle valve on the D16.

haha ERIC!
yeah see i dont think its needed.. becz the car runs fine and no CEL's.

i need to get you some pix and show you the engine you put in over h-t...lol

besides we ran into another problem, the y1 lsd tranny is being a bitch. it wont stay in 5th gear, so that cant be a good thing. we're not sure if its just that the shifter is to short and wont let the gear go all the way in (all gears dont feel like they go in, but 5th is the only one that pops back out)

I have the same problem with my second gear and it's the synchro. It ohnly pops out when I'm going right

First check all your mounts/shift linkage and make sure there tight.

What half shaft do you have?

that's why I asked what colors they were. I posted this a long time ago when I was first doing my swap

D16 Dashpot Control Solenoid

B16 Sugre cut-Off Solenoid

If your not sure the dashpot is vacuum operated, it is design to keep the throttle plate from closing suddenly when you decelerate. its more of an emissions improvement device then anything. it allows more air to mix in with the extra fuel/gas during decel

Hope that helps.

Thats the fast idle valve for the 89-91 si, no need to wire it up

Check your tranny fluid first, that will cause your problem if it is not full enough. If it is full enough then the damgage is done and you need to crack the tranny open before more problems arise.
My buddy had the same problem (popping out of 5th)but he did not run it too long w/o fluid, filled it up and has not had a problem since. 5th gear is the first to go when low on fluid because of it's placement in the tranny.
