Default h22 swap in accord..i have searched...

I have read just about everything about swapping th h22 into my accord...I am wondering if the ecu and wiring harness will workin from the f22 on the h22?And also i read that the f22 trans will work but the gears are longer..so would it just be best to get the h22 engine, trans, and ecu?

Use the Accord f22 wire harness, H22 ECU, and H22 transmission IF you can afford it. Otherwise, yes, your Accord f22 transmission will work.

right if you can afford it you will want to get h22a tranny w/ factory lsd

but if not, keep the f22 tranny and get a cheap lsd

this is a well covered topic. there are more than one/two key words to do this search. majority of people just mod the f22 harness to add the h22 ecu. as far as axles depends on whether or not your going 5 spd or auto. 5 spd axles for 5 spd and auto for auto. ebay is a good place to get your stuff from. i bough my complete auto swap back in 03. and since i am trying to convert to 5spd. i recently bought my 5 spd tranny from there too.

Use all accord axles with your h22 if for a manual transmission.

And if you want you can also use the Prelude intermediate shaft but the Accord one works fine.

I am almost positive that this is incorrect (I know someone will correct me if I am wrong though). The Accord intermediate shaft is male (axle) to female (intermediate shaft) and the Prelude is female (axle) to male (intermediate shaft). Hope that makes sense. Basically you have to use either the Accord intermediate shaft with the Accord axle or the Prelude intermediate shaft with Prelude axle.

I did read on many websites that a lot of people have had problems using Prelude axles with their H22 swaps in Accords. I just used my Accord axles with no problems.

if i am not mistaking you have to use all accord axles parts. it is generation specific though. get the components for your generation. i have heard some say prelude axles will work, not sure about the shaft. if i were you, i would go with the one for your generation. that way you know for certain that it will work. i could be hard to find but eventually you will find one. a junkyard might have one as well. conditions will vary though. i get all my parts from the junkyard and ebay.

I have heard people use the prelude intermediate shaft on the 90-93 accord swap...and yes you would have to use the prelude axle didnt include that in there. They say that its stronger than the accord one. I dont think it works in any other gens but i could be wrong.

prelude axles are longer than accord axles. you are asking for more often axle failure and binding as well as possible vibrations from the front end by using longer axles, and its worse when you are lowered.
if you want your car to work right and have axle life like it is supposed to you would use the right axles, as in teh original axles for your body style accord.

thanks for the back up. i have heard that the prelude axles are longer as well, which is why it is better to get the ones for you generation. i have also heard of some people using prelude axles on their accord. can't remember which gen though. imo, better get the ones for your car's generation to eliminate problems.

I've seen JDM h22a engine packages with EVERYTHING for 1990, it's all not that much so think about it if your gona redo your tranny..say you goto a dealership they charge you hmmm ab out 2k+ just for a tranny. Well with the jdm h22a you get 200hp out of the box + a tranny which I think would last alot longer than an accord tranny(6th gen). I don't know about lude trannys though, anyone know if they're good? Back to the swap, if you get the 2k swap with everything and get it swapped in, it'd just be more for the labor so what do ya say? 2k JUST for a tranny + labor. Go ***** to the wall and spend alittle. If your not happy with the power of the F series then goto the H it's a great buy just look around for one! Hope to hear from you soon

Yea i've been told about the gears that if you use an f22 tranny on an h22 engine i'd be shifting from 2-3 at about 7* mph...is that redlined or a what?

This will be my first engine swap...

and twobit where did u find all that for $1990? I saw on ebay just the engine is 995. I'm probably going to get it and just use my tranny until i can get an h22 one..unless someone on here has everything i need for around 2 grand..

i got mine from ebay 2 years ago for 1850. it was auto package though. h vs f series tranny depends on your intent. if your boosting, the f series benefits the turbo. n/a use the h series. h22 ususally. i wanted a semi-long geared tranny with semi aggressiveness so i am going h23. the f series if not boosting will hurt because i won't stay in vtec which would make vtec pointless.

You need to use a P13 or a chipped ECU such as a Chipped P28.
