Do you guys think the 01' supplemental manual would be worth it to get along with the 98-01 service manual? It is the same car...but im wondering why there's a supplemental manual for the year 01'?

 

I've got it and realy don't use it. Just a few of the specs changed, not realy worth the 30 bux i thought. But i do have it, I might scan it in if you need it bad enough.

 

I didn't get it and I'm fine so far.

 

thanks... but im curious.. what spec changes did it list on the supp manual? I don't think that there's too many? Any Specifics that stands out??

 

and ummm... If you are willing to scan them in, your deed would be greatly appreciated even though you guys are telling me that im hardly or never will use it...

 

It's useless...they sent it to me, and I sent it back to them insisting that they send me the 2000 supplement that had the information that I needed. They paid for the shipping back to them, and then the 2 day shipping of the 2000 supplement to me.

 

Well the 98 manual was before they did the no major service crap for 100k miles so thouse specs changed. The cam duration specs changed, but thats about it. Not much. I think there are 2 diagrams in it. I'll try and find it and scan it in.

You saying the 2000 supplement has more information than the 2001?

 

The 2000 year is when they changed the ECU pinouts and a few other various items, such as the LSD that uses different bearings(I think)...the 2000 supplement is ~100 pages long. I use the 2000 supplement almost as much as I use the '98+ book...just ask Chris, the book is sitting at his house at the moment.

Ok, I have an order pending right now with Helms and on it is the 01 supplement. If I needed to hook up a VAFC to my 01 TypeR, will I need either a 00 supplement?

 

I needed the pinout for installing a J&S Safeuard...I ordered one online, they sent me the '98+ book, and the '01 supplement, no ECU pinouts, therefore I couldn't install the damn thing until I had the color code and wire locations, had to wait on the '00 supplement to find out what wires were what on my '01 itr.

So in English, BUY THE '00 SUPPLEMENT, NOT THE '01 SUPPLEMENT.
