lol, yea pretty much they are for looks. i dont have to orig. caps for the shocks on the rear window so i figured these would make the nut and bolt set-up look a little nicer!

Actually they're used by some race teams after they eliminate the OEM latch/lock system, and need to keep the hatch secure.

I think the spoon teams used them on there EGs too.
IMO:
Race car + clamps = sweetness
