best power @ 6psi
as i build my ls motor on the side, im getting real frustrated with my near bone stock d16y7 motor...so my friend got me into boosting my single cam...im looking forward to boost around 6/7 pounds...daily driver...dont want to much power..motor has about 130k grandma maintananced miles on it...just want sumthing to get by...some one hit me with a good set up on how to get the best out of them few psi and what numbers will i be more or less seen? thanx
might as well invest in good set of injectors and hondata (something like it, uberdata), since you can use it on your LS. If you are planning on running big turbo on your LS, you will be better off running a DSM turbo (14b) with a HF matifold (with adapter) to save money and big turbo isn't going to get spooled by that motor. Good intercooler pipes, and IC, because you are going to reuse it on LS. I would expect around 180whp properly tuned on 6psi.

lol, yeah he was refering to a t3 turbo with the "super 60" trim compressor wheel. pretty much the highest flowing t3 compressor housing and would probably still work well on the sohc. cant really help you with an hp estimate as it will vary between turbos and different setups. 200 whp would be nice.

not a bad idea, you can probably pick it up pretty cheap too. im pretty sure you can find that turbo on the t-bird, svo mustang, or any other 2.3L turbo ford. happy hunting.

to the wheels or crank, even then thats shitty, hes deff runing the wrong turbo set up for sure. Edlebrocks kit on y5's make more power at 6psi

A buddy of mine made 195whp and 177wtq @ 8psi on a T3 .42/.48 which is a fairly small turbo. And this was on a stock motor with a ghetto homemade style kit. It was tuned very well by a shop though.

well the most ima run is 7 psi...again 135k motor daily driver I really dont wanna abuse it so ive heard around my area super 60 is a good choice..but what about that edelbrock kit....if i can put out at least around 170 or so to the wheel im satisfied...im building an an ls on the side i just need to put sumthing small in my sohc cuz its real frustrating..
