what can i do w/ an 87 crx!?
just bought a red 87 crx. ive been looking around for body kits, suspension, engine swaps, etc. i have seen a ton of stuff for the 88+ crx, but not much for the 84-87. i was wondering what the major differences in the two generations were, and how much modification it would take to fit an 88+ body kit (bumpers & skirts)on the 87. also, how hard is the b16a or b18 swap on the 87? can i do it with a mount kit, or are there any modifications to the chassis i have to do? thanks for any answers.
strip that sum-bitch, call hasport or go their site and get their instructions for the install into a 84-87 chassis, get their mount kit, put a b16 in there and go run low 14's.
just go for a d16z6 or y8 swap that car is light as hell, should be able to hit 14's all motor on a d-series. well the suspension is different up fron u got torsion bars instead of coil springs like the 4th gen's. if u want to go with a swap tha like was mentioned before hasport has the kit for u.

well if ya wanna be cheap about it then go get an integra zc (86-89) and it will bolt right in. and the suspension is way different. like he said torsion bars up front with a beam axle attached to panhard rods in the rear.
he is right.. that is the key
does it say Si, HF, or nothing at all?
if it says SI, than get the teg driveline : easy swap, all the wiring bolts up, and you know have approx 120 hp instead of 91
if you got $$$, and its a SI, get the hasport kit and throw in a b16.
you need HELLA bodywork to get a bodykit on there.. the bodies are waaaay different
i got the same car except its a DX.. no markings on the back, and its carb'd. im in the process fo doing a teg swap right now.

also some good resources:
as people have said, : http://www.hasport.com
suspension: http://www.opmmotorsports.com
integra parts: http://www.g1teg.org/main.html
with these 3 links, you get:
A: motor swap
B: Suspension
C: Bigger brakes/disk brakes in the rear, too. also really good people to hang with since the 1st gen integra's are set up like your CRX. really really good info.
btw, i hate you!!! i want a first gen!

heh, i went ahead and assumed he had gotten an si, otherwise why even bother?
i say you leave the car BONE STOCK and save the cash and go B-series, run 13s and 14s all day long. then after that....still leave it BONE STOCK. nice little cars they are, but not when they've got "custom fabricated" body kits and ****.
but if you REALLY want a body kit...ANDY'S AUTOSPORT makes a decent one for the 1g, with some resemblence to the 2g WW RS kit. http://www.andysautosport.com i think.
thanks a bunch guys. sounds like the 1st gen integra is the place to be for brakes and such. i thought i might add that i picked the car up for 900$ cash, absolutely NO rust, newish (rebuilt) engine, new tires, and damn near perfect interior. runs great, just gonna need a clutch soon. hahaha, hope youre all jealous...
