Default Back tail-light question

Alright, not really about the tail lights, but the glass piece in the middle on the hatck. Is there any way to get rid of the glass piece? I want to try to get a piece of metal or something. Does anyone know how to go about this, or if it has been done?

STD model hatchbacks used a black opaque plastic piece in the center, rather than the red translucent piece (it's plastic, not glass) found on DX and Si models . . .

You can do whatever you want to it. Painting it is not at issue at all just make sure that you prep it good before painting. I am sure that they sell some sort of paint that will stick to plastic.

Use plastic primer, and you can use regular spraypaint.

Make sure it's based on the same solvent, or the paint will eat the primer. That's all.

well, i dont really have much of a choice on the door trim, I only have one piece left. Someone tried to steal it but it didn't do them any good because they broke the prongs off. Local junkyard wants $58 per piece of trim.
So...I am bondoing it in and sanding it flat. I know it looks weird, but, i kind of like it.

hey to each his own right...its all about personal preference ....also you can find some molding for dirt cheap if you look around, and another alternative is getting the mugen or wings west kit for it...

Slam your door shut a bit too hard and all the filler will come falling off. I've seen it happen. Hadn't had such a good laugh in a long time.

First your giving him advice, now your making fun of what he wants to do.

But ya, Bondo the whole thing is a bad idea. It will crack. Welding in metal is you best bet.

you dont have to mold anything with the wings west kit...sometimes people do but it doesnt look right...and its pretty simple to install it yourself...

Most the pictures i see of cars on extremedimensions.com have shaved sides.
EX.
And

I am getting a body kit soon though, but i want one thats semi-easy to install on

I like the west wings, but no local dealers around here. As for the mugen, is that the "type M body kit"?

how much does a wings west kit normally run (retail)?
I think im gonna try one last junkyard and try to find my piece. I like the look of the wings west kit and stuff, But being 16 and doing a motorswap, I don't really have much money the way it is.
