Default Carbon Fiber vs. plastic

Which would be more durable for a front lip that’s likely going to take some hits along the way, carbon fiber or plastic? I know carbon fiber is strong but it’s rigid right? Would the carbon fiber break before a plastic one, where as the plastic would flex more before it broke? Who here has experience with a carbon fiber front lip and how does it hold up to a little abuse?

THanks
