Default Is this CRX worth the time or cash?

Hey, I'm a newbie to the site and pretty new to cars in general. I'm learning though. I would appreciate your expertise a lot. I've got a 93 Jetta with just a few problems, but the frame is junk so I'm looking to replace it with something really fast and preferably cheap.

I found a '90 CRX on eBay that's local - the thing looks like &$@# but the engine might be worth something. If the frame is in good condition, I'd be willing to throw some money at a new windshield, paint job, and details.

I'm fairly new to cars and I want something I can work on for a while. But it needs to run decently in the meantime, and not require a lot of serious work since I don't have a garage or all the tools.

Here's the auction:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT

What I'm wondering is:

What should I look for if I go check this car out in person?

What is it worth?

How much will it cost me to get it in decent shape?

The car looks like junk but it interests me because I can work on a lot of the aesthetic stuff myself, but the performance engine work is still out of my league.

Thanks for reading and any feedback you've got.

Ok, not particularly suprised, thanks for reading though. I messaged him and said 200 sounded extremely high but he was adament about it. I don't know s**t though.

What should I expect to spend for a CRX with some decent power that's worth keeping? I admit I haven't researched it a ton yet, but it seems like the Si @ ~ 105hp is about the fastest option w/o mods. Anyway I'll keep reading up, any input welcome.

Thanks.

price really depends on area. one city you could get a good one for 500 and another 2,000. just keep looking. check the classifieds when your trial is up

I restore CRXs. One that has been hot rodded, converted, etc might have problems. Usually run to death. STOCK IS BEST IF YOU KNOW HOW TO DRIVE A CAR. THE SCREWY GREEN PAINT IS A GIVE AWAY. But if you get it at a low price it might be worth it. BUT, you have to know how to work on a car to build one. A primo CRX Si is worth a ton of money. A run to death tire screecher is a problem .
