Default 93 Si--->96 Si Gauges

OK I searched it and I found the previous site but I'm quite lost in how to do the conversion still...

What are the H J and M harnesses? Is there another more... newbie friendly write up lying around? Heh.... Thanks guys, sorry if you've gone through this already.

That is the write up that I used to refer to when I was interested in the swap. I found it a much cheaper headache to just get the whole dash harness. I picked one off of ebay because someone was parting out a 94 prelude. Try you luck there.

my friend just swapped out his 93 s model harness, dash, and gauges with a 96 vtec. he ran into problems of having extra clips from the newer harness and now his taillights dont light up.

i did the re-wiring to my 4th gen and he did it to his too before he got the new harness. it really isnt as hard as it looks. i will see if i can find the diagram that i went off of.

goodluck'

Big difference man, I used to own a 92 si and now got me a 94 vtec and the speedometer gauges are more beautiful eluminated and kinda look like Lexus's odometers but with our green color, so beautiful that I can't appreciate them more every time I turn those on at night , If anyone can convert their 93 down to 94 up I strongly recommend it, it'll be one mod you'll love for good

what about the mileage? is there a way to adjust it to the actual mileage of the car? or bring it to honda and they do it for you?

dash harness (its not a stupid question by the way) consists of the wiring and plugs that run through the dash (priced at around $300+ from honda). 94-96 preludes gave the option to have EL (electro luminescent) (SP?) gauges. they are back lit and when you turn off the car they are no longer really visible (like the lexus gauges).

i looked at the other link at the top of the page and it has the same wire descirption as i used. once you get the other gauges out you will see that finding the right colored wires to splice into isnt as hard as you think. and then what my friend and i did was just slide the other end of the wire on to the correct "prong" on the gauges described in the link.

goodluck to you all

So basically if i can just get the plugs and a few inches of wire behind them cut off, i can splice the wires to the plugs and then ill be good?
