With OTS Koni Sports for '88-91 Civic/CRX and the Ground Control extended-travel upper mounts, your limit becomes the point at which the upper control arms hit the body.

Ok, so the koni's arent like the KYB AGX's ? cuz the AGX's wont handle anything lower than 1.5" cuz they'll blow prematurely.(warranty will void it)

No Koni will safely hold a drop

is the shock body narrow enough to fit inside the top hat? doesnt look like it. if it doesnt, its not doing anything other than limiting droop. because if the shock body cant fit inside the top hat, then its just going to crash into the top hat.

What are you talking about I am running a 3" drop on AGX's and have yet to have a problem after 1 1/2 years running them about 60,000km put on them like this. Still ride like the day I bought them. Also warrenty will not be voided since I retail them and have never had a problem with warrenty claims.

It says straight ont he KYB AGX warranty papers that they will void it after a 1.5" drop. It says the same thing for the Koni Sport Yellows (SP3 and non SP3 models) as well.
When I used to have my CRX, I bottomed them out with my GC coilovers all the time. They do take alot of punishment but there is a limit as stated above.
What is nice about the KONI shocks is that they can be rebuilt here in the US with any adjustment you would like. The GC's also have the option of using any rate of Eibach spring needed.
However, even with a full 3" drop like you wanted Rob. The problem is that the Upper Control Arm will hit the chassis due to the physical location of it.

You need to learn how to rock Koni setups properly. Nub.

I'm running the Sprint Extreme springs on my EF. I have stock struts that haven't blown yet, amazingly. Anyways, my point is that if I hit a big enough bump, my upper control arms hit before my struts bottom out. If that is your case, then that is as low as you will go. Unless you decide to cut holes for your arms to come through....
I'm running agx's on the front of my car with over 2" drop for a year now and a friend of mine is running agx's with over 2" of drop for about 3years. Both of us road race and solo2 events; no problems. LOL
Koni's are built better and will handle a stiffer spring rate. I don't think either brand is shortened though.
