To be honest unless you have a lot of electronic goodies like high power amplifiers or racing computers a grounding kit isn't really needed. The best thing you could do is just be sure your existing ground connections are clean and corrosion free.

You thinks correct. And as for your grounds, you can beef up the existing ones but like it was said before... 4 guage is a bit overkill

I'd use some 8 gauge....just make sure all the surfaces are clean before terminating them. Crimp and solder the connectors....

for sure, im still not sure if I need it... I was told that it would provide smoother functioning of ALL electronic devices, i.e.- steroe, spark ignition acceleration...is that not true?

It may help a small amount, but your going to put more work into the grounds than you will benefit from it. So you can but it's not really worth it.

not saying they are a good mod or not...

I just think it's funny how mostly from what I've seen here on H-T is that the ground wires aren't really worth upgrading unless for reasons already stated in this thread. Then just the other day I was on CB7Tuner reading through post after post of people saying the ground wires were a worth while mod for any reason.

A lot of people on CB7 were saying to use 4 guage. Some even said it help smooth out the power band? Some were also saying that the ground cable for the auto trannies were worth upgrading, can't remember the reason though. Any thoughts on those?

I used AeroSpeed's HyperGround kit for a while (till I swapped motors).... I did'nt take the extra 10 minutes to put it back on the new engine if that tells you anything.

I was just wondering. Seems more like there are different schools of thought depending on which sites you go on.

Been around here long enough to know a joke.... not a hot headed n00b with something to prove.

But yeah, I noticed very little to absolutely no difference... but it did look cool

If you've got the time and a few bucks I don't see why you wouldn't do it. You won't notice any gains, but it won't hurt anything. It would be something you do if you are just trying to squeeze out every little bit of power you can.

it'd be worth upgrading if your doing a new alternator. but if you were going to do that you'd want to do the big 3 and make sure they are 0/1 for the best performace on power.
