Car Stuck in Park
I have a 1992 Accord EX. It is stuck in park. It is on a level surface. This just happened. I just replaced the brake light switch relay. No brake lights go on when I try pressing the , you guessed it, brakes. Everytime I open the car door a 20Amp fuse gets blown for the horn. WHat in the &*%# is going on?????????
Well to get past the park problem take a key or a flathead scewdriver and stick it in the rectangular slot near the shifter and you will be able to shift it.
Check your tail light bulbs to be sure they arent shorting themselves out. I checked the diagram and don't see any direct link to a door opening. Can you be more specific about when the fuse blows? Can you tell exactally when it blows? That will point me in a better direction in the electrical manual.

disconnect the plug that goes to the brake switch at the pedal. , disconnect both horns,, install a new fuse, open and close the door see if fuse blowws,, if not, plug in the plug at brake switch and see if fuse blows,, if it does you got a shorted switch,, if it does not , plug in the horn 1 at a time ,if it blows when 1 particular one is plugget in , that horn is shurted,, if when all the plugs are disconnected and it still blows fuse ,, you got a wire shorting to ground ,,,
I did stick the key in the locking mechanism next to the shift console and also a flathead screwdriver but negative results.....I am not too worried about the horn, I just have a car that I can not move! I tried rocking the car back and forth (pushing it by hand) a little but nothing there either. The brake pedal is almost all the way to the floor, which happened at the same time the car got stuck in Park. However, as far as the horns are concerned, is there a plug I can just unplug them or do I have to unscrew some wires at the horns?
The horn fuse blows when I open the car door.
Thanks for your help so far..........

Does this car have an alarm in it?
Check and see if the horn will sound with a new fuse, without opening the door.
I want to find out if it's the horn circuit (blows the fuse w/out opening the door) OR if it's something shared thru the same fuse (fuse blows w/door opens.)
The Shift interlock solenoid works thru the stop lamp switch; releasing when both the Ignition is on and the Brake Pedal is depressed. When working properly, you'll hear a 'click' from the center console. If your brake lamps don't work, suspect either no power to the switch, or the switch itself.
