is anybody running the an-r compact header on they're ef. whats the ground clearance loof like?

DrDisco69 is and he has mucho ground clearance is close or better than stock. It fits into the oil pan really well.

 

Yessir. No cutting of the crossmember required, and ground clearance is fine. I haven't hit it on anything yet, although I've been retardedly careful with it. I'm lowered quite a bit, and ground clearance is one of the main reasons I got this header.

 

Anyone have a link so I can take a look at this header and possibly buy?

Yes I'm a little girl we've went over this.

DC+ hammer = suck header.

 

dc headers suck in general...i mean the quality is there...but it doesnt do too much performance wise

 

I actually had a problem with my AN-R getting too close to the oil pan, it acutally touched and was impossible to mount the rest of the exhaust up to. Had to have some cutting/rewelding done on it. I e-mailed AN-R about it but they didn't really seem to car. Great product, poor customer service in my situation.

Yeah, ended up costing me an extra $50, I wasn't to thrilled.

I'll second that actually. I got my header and was test fitting it when I realized the flange that bolts to the head was warped. A lot. Like the middle was ~2mm lower than the edges. I emailed him and he really didn't seem concerned, saying it would flatten out when I tightened it. Not wanting to cause problems I could avoid, I held that sucker on a bench sander for a while and flattened it right out. I also cut notches between each primary on the flange to help it flex. Other than that, it fits fine. I got it coated and it's badass.

maybe its me but im not quite sure what you mean by that...mind clarifying?

 

Pictures &gt; words. The cuts don't go all the way through, they go about 2/3rds through the flange.

what is the actual performance gain of the AN-R header. i mean they claim like 15-20 hp but so does DC . anyone have actual figures to throw out there?

 

It's actually on the car now, I'm waiting to get back to the dyno to see what it gets me before I put in cams. Once all the bugs were ironed out, it fit great, just bolted right on.

And yes, it is ceramic coaded from Calico Coatings. Their work was superb, and the color hasn't changed after months of driving. It cleans up with brake cleaner too, so getting finger prints and crap off before starting is easy.

I've taken "a few pictures", thanks. It hurts my brain to see poopy camera phone pictures of cool stuff, so I don't fork around when I have something to show people.

 

Should have let me bring that AN-R to belgium to try it on an ee8, you know...just for testing purposes of course
