iceman vs aem cold air for itr
hey this is gonna get locked in acouple of seconds, do a search to find more info
The Icebox is much better with mid range torque (which we need). I had the AEM but the sonic boom when VTEC hit definalty get old and the power curve was to choppy for my taste. So I went to the icebox (which I'm waiting for right now). From I've read from posts here the sound is alittle deeper than stock in VTEC but not a big difference. I perfer the quiter sound and te better mid-range the icebox has

I believe he's asking about the Iceman CAI compared to the AEM CAI. If so, I don't think many people in this forum have experience with the Iceman, since most CAI users are using either the AEM, Injen, or Comptech. I don't see any reason to choose the Iceman over the AEM or Injen though, especially with the current pricing available for the AEM.
As for loudness, I would assume that the plastic used for the Iceman would lessen the noise slightly, though this might be offset by the fact that the Iceman opens to a larger diameter at the filter. HTH.

The people over at importbuilders swear by the iceman. I guess the materials used keep the air much colder than the competion. And , correct me if I'm wrong, every 10 degrees cooler gives you 1whp.
I, however, like the Icebox. It is the same setup as stock, but the short ram part isn't made of plastic. I figure that the boys over at Honda really know what they are doing, and the Icebox is just an improvment in heat conditioning.
Also, if you want to save $360, you can put a tube of dryer duct over your stock plastic short ram. This will cut down heat just the same as any of systems avalible with just one problem, it looks jet-O.
Anyway, I hope that helps somebody.
peace,

My two bits... I've got a 95 GSR with the iceman CAI. I lost a lot of low end, very noticeable at first and I was a bit disappointed because of it. Up top it did pull stronger from 5K on up and I thought this was a good enough trade off for me to keep it. I have no experience with the AEM.
