Does it hurt fiberglass to have it outside without paint?
Doens't hurt it but I would definatly throw acouple of coats of wax on it to keep it protected against the elements. Just treat it like you treat the metal pieces on your car
Paint and wax won't help fiberglass much against rock dings.
If you paint it and a nice rock hits it going 50-70mph, you're just gonna have a rock chip in it. It'll show white, or whatever the color is underneath it.
I wouldn't suggest going with fiberglass anywhere, especially on the front of the car. In a month or so, you'll be quite unhappy with the results.
Trust me, I know. With my old riced out WW kit that was fiberglass, in about 2 months, I didn't even care what it looked like anymore there were so many rock chips in it. I took great care of it, never scratched the bottom, washed and waxed the whole car all the time. But you just can't stop rock chips on the open road.

WW and fiberglass? WW=Wings West? Doesn't make sense, I thought they always did urethane...
The similar Wings West Big Mouth kit is urethane though.
Anywho, I didn't like it. To many rock chips.
Hey Jon,
Fiberglass (gelcoat) will oxidize if left outside to the elements long enough. Wax it up good. Go by West Marine (Broad & *** near Chesapeake Bagel Bakery) and check out the various fiberglass care products. (I worked there a long long time ago)
