Close to death
I was gettin on the highway and there was this bump right before you get to the actual ramp and my car(90 hatch) jump up a lil bit then when it settled from the pop up the windsheild wipers were going extremely slow and so I cut them off and just thought ok I gotta fix that now, then when I try to punch it to merge the car starts to bog down and then the battery light and check engine light came on and so I park on the side of the road and put my cautions on and then raise the hood and see that my amp power wire hooked on to the battery was on fire and I flipped and blew out the fire and noticed the only real damage I could see at least was the amp cables rubber cover was burnt all to ****. So I move the amp wire out of the way but it was still plugged up to the battery and jumped into the car and it started up, but while on the way home it was feeling a little funny like it wasn't accelerating as fast kinda running flat like there was no powerband or something. Anyway I was wondering if anyone can suggest things I should deff check and/or the possible problem. Thanks in advance and if you need any more info to help me out then I'll be glad to tell. I don't wanna have my battery explode.
unfortunately I don't and I know thats bad but the amp still works fine its the engine I'm worried about. I know not having the fuse hooked up could harm the engine and now I will put one in. I think I should prolly go and see if the ecu is throwing any codes. besides installing a fuse is there anything else that I should more than likely check? I checked the lights and all the other electrical things on the inside of the car and so far only the seatbelt light isn't working anymore. I think the power wire shorted against one of the other two stock power wires coming from the batteries positive terminal.

Most likely it won't harm the engine. But check all grounds and ecu for shortage or burns and codes.
