if anyone ever used duralast belts or waterpump or any duralast product,tell me about it. how was your experience with them and were they any good? life-span? im curious because i checked the pricing and it wasnt that bad. so i wondered about quality. dont flame on guys,and dont turn this into a: GET AN OEM HONDA PART.


if it wasnt for johneagle i dont think i'd have the bucks to go to my dealers. so if the johneagle offers end in the future and i need parts,i'd just like to know which i can trust and which i shouldnt.

 

stick with factory belts and especially water pump.........hell a factory pump only costs aroung 60 dollars and will last at least 6 years ,, that's less than 1 dollar per month ,,,,,,

 

Duralast AutoZone... Personally i have had their parts on my car and damn do i regret it lol i got a damn clutch duralast and its trash..... about their belts... and water pump honestly wouldnt you rather pay an extra 10 for a better brand its not like you replace the water pump every year na mean. and Duralast offer a life time warrently for a reason! lol because it probably breaks down fast. there are people on ebay that sell brand new timming belt sets with water pump for cheap just look around and if you are luck you can get an OEM for dirt cheap and yes i know u said

but you got to really think about this its something you rarely replace on a vehicle especially a honda and wouldnt you want somethings thats known for its good reputation.

i've had serpetine Duralast belts and after a year it started cracking and dry rotting so i switch over to i think either goodyear or gatorback i cant remeber but they last alot longer....

Why go with something cheap when in the end it will turn out expesive.

perfect example: cheap belt and water pump. aftermath; blown engine

feel me. sometimes its better spending the extra 10-30 dollars on somethings that can affect you car alot that throwing a cheap part in.

shyt i got a $110 duralast Clutch kit and its somthing that you dont change often on a car so in the end i know something will give out when i could of paid 230 for an excelent clutch like centerforce and have it last alot longer.

Remeber "you pay for what u get"

But then again if its a car you plan to keep for a year or two fck it and just get the duralast wont b your problem anymore but the next owner of the car lol i think u said u had a 90 accord? if you plan to keep it again for more than 3 years then might as well invest in an expesive one but if it you plan to sell it soon might as well get the duralast also another factor you might consider is if you speed alot or red light race alot..

the total of 4belts+waterpump comes to 130. OEM from john eagle cost me the exact same + an extra buck or two. its cool,i just wanted to hear some thoughts from people who've had it before. thanks again

The real truth about water pumps, because we checked this out in the 80's; the aftermarket water pumps that have the 'cast' impeller ALWAYS ran 10-15 degrees hotter coolant temp, that means more work for the cooling fans etc. the stamped steel fins move the coolant better, I have no doubt at all about this.

 

I used the duralast pump with goodyear belts.
So far so good. Just drove it from Texas to Cali and back last week.
Just hope it last 4 years. That my average time to change them 90k.

 

Once I got some NAPA belts, bad idea. I had to tighten them way too much to stop them from slipping when I first started out in the morning. Every time I got cheap, and bought Autozone parts, I regretted it afterward.
