wassup people i was wondering if you guys could help me. i have a 93 delsol si and my tranny is acting up! it still has the original d16z6 motor and tranny. when i shift at high rpms like 6-7200 from 1st to 2nd and from 2 to 3rd it grinds!! even if i put the clutch all the way in and shift.. still grinds.. my friends say it can be my clutch.. because my clutch is slipping nasty! how bout when i shitft at 7200 it falls out of power band to like 4500 rpms.. and mind you it only grinds at *high rpms.. could it be my syncros? i hope not i hope its just the clutch..

well if it's only grinding up high I'd think you're looking at worn out syncros. If the clutch wasn't fully disengaging it would grind at any rpm. Try pushing the clutch in, waiting a second or two and then changing into 2nd gear to see if it still grinds. Alternatively you can double clutch to narrow it down to a syncro problem.

 

if it grinds it's prolly the syncros in the 2nd and 3rd gears, but the clutch would play into effect too.

 

its yur syncros i had the same thing happen too me before i lost 3rd gear it world only grind when i would shift at high rpm's goin too in 3rd i would wait a sec and it wouldn't grid
