Noobie in need of help "OIL BURNING!!"
I changed my oil and accidently put to much oil. I found out after I took it for a drive after the change and the car starting smoking really bad out of the exhaust. SO I went home and drained it and it is now at the right level. However it still smoke like crazy at certain RPMs. Around 2.5k-3k RPMs it bogs and stuttters and clouds of smoke comes out. WHen I checked the oil is was light bubbles so I drained it.
THe oil level is correct now but it still smokes and bogs. It doesnt really smoke at first until you take it for a drive for about 20 minutes and at certain RPMs. very very light smoke at idle.
Could I have severly damaged some parts?

it is possible you still have oil in places it doesnt belong...should have used the dipstick... the other possibility is that you had so much oil in there that you have an internal oil seal blow and now it leaks from that spot. check your pcv, and intake tract for oil.
I put about half a quart extra.
I got side tracked because my girlfriend thought it was funny and honked the horn. and I didnt think it mattered to much that it was half a quart to much.

A half a quart shouldnt really do any damnage. It may have been a coinsidence that it happened after you did the oil change.

what does mixing synthetic have to do with it?? a half quart will usually not do any damage to an engine. what weight oil was used? what type of oil filter was used? is the smoke coming from under the car or is it from the exhaust pipe? what color is the smoke? you didn't put 2 stroke oil in right?

Um you're piston rings had to do with it, considering if you mix in synthetic with old oil and did not completely drain out the old then something like that could or might have occured possible. OR if you just have high miles and think adding synthetic to a old motor would matter or make a difference for the most part if you like to see blue smoke then go ahead.
I used 5w30 oil. with a fram filter. and when did I say anything about mixing oil? lol. The car is still smoking I used a stop leak formula and added it to the oil. driven it about 2 miles so far and im waiting to see what happens hopefuly it will stop.
How do I do a leakdown test and a compression test?
what is a leakdown test?
btw the motor is a b20Vtec motor. and im still a noobie lol

Pfft i was fixin to say, if you just used that weak **** for oil then yea...you're headgasket is toast since it's the only other thing it could be. Btw you might wanna take that head to a shop to get them to test it for leaks/cracks, and resurfaced/cleaned, does not cost alot really.

I assume it is a headgasket because I found a lil bit of sluudge on top of my radiator when I took the cap off. Hinting that oil and coolant is mixing.
BUT Does a blown headgasket cause it to burn crazy amounts of oil? It smokes and looses power bogs at certain RPMs
