What is ACG (s) fuse?
I have an 88 accord that has an electrical short which will drain my battery if I don't run the car every day. I have not been able to locate the short. Tonight I noticed a very dim 'hum' under the hood while the engine was off and battery connected. I started pulling fuses and when i pulled the 10 amp ACG (s) fuse the hum went away. I believe whatever this fuse controls could lead to my battery drain problem. I've had the car a couple years and the alternator works fine (if thats what the fuse is for). Also if this fuse is for the alternator why would it hum when turned off? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Okay I just verified my suspicion that this fuse is associated with the alternator. I started car, pulled fuse - car still runs. Removed battery ground cable with fuse pulled and it stalled. My alternator has worked fine for 2 years. Why the hum with car turned off and the subsequent draining of my battery?! I've gone through every fuse in car looking for wiring short (with meter) and found nothing.

If you listen carefully, you may be able to pick out which of the two Headlight Drive Motors is not shutting off. Although not on the top of the list of strange things Hondas' do, this does happen from time to time.
Something is keeping the Headlamp bucket assembly from traveling full range, and one of the micro-switches which control the operation of the drive motors is not shutting it off.
Look for something like packed snow, a broken Garnish molding (that piece of trim along the bottom) or some other out-of-place item which isn't allowing the Headlamp bucket to either fully open or close.

I would'nt doubt this trouble is related to a headlght issue. I had a short in one due apparently to wire pinching. Lately I rarely ever use my high beams because sometimes (twice) the lights will go out when I hit the hi - beam. I'm gonna go check it out, thanks!
first off you have a electrical drain not a short,, ,, if it were a short , it would blow a fuse...
Here is what you do,,,,,,get a multimeter, set it at milliamps,, disconnect neg battery cable, hook up the multimeter in series ,,if it shows around 20-30 milliamps of drain you are ok,, if it is more, start pulling fuses 1 by one to determine which system has the drain..
acg fuse runs a few different things ..it might help you greatly if you buy a ETM .........the humming you hear might be a relay not disengaging properly ..

The headlight harness, where it travels from the body into the headlight bucket will crackand eventually break or short, blowing fuses. You have to remove a headlamp to get to it (Inside the bucket)

correct I was pulling my main relay and couldn't so I pushed the clips and pulled the whole mother board from the casing .. the motherboard hit something causing arc and shorted my acg(s) fuse.. now I had even more problems; continuous cranking but car wouldn't start never had that issue before but ik that is another symptom of failing PGM FI relay ( main relay ) from watching YouTube . I originally pulled main relay cos when temperature would reach 80+ or on any hot day running the car for 30min+ it seemed my starter would not function correctly I would only hear a click but starter was not engaging. I went to square one after new pgm fi arrrived and it didn't fix my problem looked at fuses and boom it was fried. Hope this helps many . I have ulev vtec engine on my 2001 Honda accord lx 225k on the miles lets roll
