JDM B16A3???
Hey I searched but didn't find what I was looking for.... so here goes....
I recently bought a obd1 XSI swap from a local shop here for $1500... It came with the rare obd1 PR3 ecu, it came with a NO GRIND YS1 tranny (no lsd
), it also came with a B16A3 with 1XXXX on the block... also, the block has a 92 on it... I was told B16A3 were only USDM del sols 94 and up...
On a side note, when the shop recieved the swap, it came with XSI axles, XSI linkage and they told me the tranny and engine were never separated...
Anyways, heres my question: Did any JDM motors come with a B16A3 designation??? Anything would be helpful... Again, i searched but there are 300+ results
my ecu says its from a DA6 too

i have a p30 intake manifold... it says pr3 (also has a 92 stamp) on the block by the exhaust manifold, but it has a b16a3 stamp by where it mates to the tranny.... it looks like my motor was pieced together
did the 94-95 del sols have p30 designations?

ummm no as stated earlier JDM engines dont have numbers at the end it will be B16A and thats it

yeah, thats what it looks like... also, now my idle stuck at like 2k rpms... i cleaned the iacv (the thing with the screen), i tightend the FITV (the little wax screw thing) and the vaccum lines look fine... I see that they changed the intake manifold to a P30 (obd1) when they pieced my engine together and Im thinking maybe its the im gasket or tb gasket that is leaking and causing high idle
But first, i have to fix the busted heater hose and bleed the coolant... maybe if there was air bubbles in the lines it would cause a high idle??? Does air in the lines cause a bouncing erratic idle or a steady high idle like i have???

you are all wrong
it is EDM, european motors have #'s after b16a unlike their jdm counterparts but retain jdm internals and are not the same as us spec motors. it is definitely from a 92 integra and not a del sol because as stated it is a 1 million series motor not a 3 million series motor which came with hydro tranny's. only cable motors came with the 1 million series #'s. you didnt get jipped its the same compression and everything as the jdm motor.- maybe ask seti20 he is from across the pond i believe

Beat me to it
Euro cars had a fifth digit after them, like B16A3. So your motor could be a European model or an American model. If it came with XSi stuff, then it's probably Euro. And yes, ask seti20, he's a Euro

Yes an a bubble in your coolant will cause an irradic idle so bleed your coolant system to eliminate that from the possibilities

B16a2 is from usdm 99-00 civic SI and canadian 99-00 civic Sir..
B16a1 is from edm cars..But for some reason alot of people refer to the 89-91 jdm sir1 b16a as a b16a1..and they refer to the b16a sir2 as a b16a2..Its annoying..Even hmotorsonline does it and its confusing alot of people..
