Default need REAL/CORRECT bleeding sequence for 02 EX

I've been trying to find the REAL brake bleeding sequence for a 2002 Auto 1.7 EX with ABS.

I've heard 1. FR,FL,RR,RL and 2. RR,FL,RL,FL. Both of these from people that swear that's what the service manual says to do...

If anyone can verify the sequence for a 2002 EX (NOT Si, like someone thought), please let me know.

Thanks.

Might want to find out what the service manual really says, though.

For instance, on the EP, the service manual says LF, RF, RR, LR (on page 19-8 of the green Honda manual). That's definitely not "farthest to closest to the master cylinder".

I'm going to re-bleed mine sometime after I get back home to see if it's any different. It was done farthest-to-closest when I got the brake swap.

Reviewing the thread, I've noticed that we've got just about every combination covered... lol

Okay, here's a screenshot from the EP3 Civic Si manual:

unless you completely drain your brake fluid it won't really matter which one you bleed and it which order. Or at least if you have introduced air into the system from the caliper end of things. The air will stay near the calipers so you should only need a few pumps to get it out. I'm not completely sure why there is a set brake bleeding pattern. If someone could explain to me why this is, i would like to know.

I'm not completely sure, either. The conventional farthest-to-closest method also doesn't necessarily account for the ABS module, which in the EP's case is in the right side of the engine compartment -- that is, IF the ABS module would make a difference in the fluid line layout itself.

If it really doesn't matter, the best reason I can think of would be to prescribe a consistent procedure for the mechanics to follow. Like a checklist of sorts, they're more likely to get all of them bled and not forget anything if they have a regular routine to follow.

I'd still like to give it a shot myself, and if anything changes, I'll report back.
