SOHC radiator on a DOHC car
Sorry to bring up an old topic but Im about to put a new radiator into my car too and was wondering how the "tape" around the neck of the hose inlet is holding up? Anyone else tried this without any problems??
My buddy Ahmed used his stock DX SOHC radiator to cool a B18C5. He kinda drove fast so it kept cool, but he never had any problems. If anything, I say protect your investment and upgrade

Sounds good enough for me for now I guess. What hose did he use btw? or did he use tape? Nothing wrong with that either I assume?

Good luck finding one where Im from, our local autoparts store dont carry radiators and finding one second hand is even harder. As usual honda charges you a fist up the **** for one new.

Good luck finding one where Im from, our local autoparts store dont carry radiators and finding one second hand is even harder. As usual honda charges you a fist up the **** for one new.

around $75 shipped for a radiator. My friend just bought one for his F22'd lude and his dad said that the welds were really good. High quality stuff from that seller.

I would worry about the teflon tape. Your hose could slip off. Teflon tape are to be used around threaded pipes.

Ive been reading up on some threads and it seems like some people use a cut off piece of the old civic hose and then put the integra one over that and it seems to work so Im gonna give that a try
i used the stock civic upper one and heated the end that goes on the motor up with a torch and forced it on, its real snug and ill never have to worry about it comming off. for the bottom hose i used a 90-93 teg hose and it fit prefect. this was a b16 in a 92-95 hatch
i had an sohc radiator with my b16. i noticed that the fan was overworked. it kept switching on in shorter intervals than with my sohc engine. also, when i replaced the stock radiator with a thicker aftermarket radiator, the stock radiator cracked right where the upper hose is connected. it go brittle and weak. i woud suggest you get a bigger radiator.

it depends, some sohc radiators are pretty beefy
