10w30 syntec oil or 10w30 regular motor oil in my b16a2 transmission

Default 10w30 syntec oil or 10w30 regular motor oil in my b16a2 transmission

i need to know if i can use full syntec motor oil in my b16a2 transmission
it has 76k or should i use 80w90 syntetic blend or 10w30 regualr oil,.
dont know what to use

Either that, or get some GM or Pennzoil Synchromesh fluid.

wow never knew you could use reg motor oil in a tranny...

i run redline MT-90 in my celica and its been working well. i'm not sure if that would work well in a honda tranny or not. i think it is 75w90 if i remember correctly.

yea!
now people r using 10w30 on their honda transmissions because is similar to the mtf that honda makes.

syncro if there are grinds present- i personally have used 10/30.

I use a product called BG Synchroshift. I don't notice any difference at all, so my next change, I will switch back to the good ol Honda MTF.

i was told not to ever put anything but tranny oil, especially Honda's Manual Tranny oil. I will never put anything else in my tranny, and i have a b16 as well with a S21 tranny

seems like you can put whatever you want in there huh? i was told to put only motor oil in by my engine builder but jeff evans put mobil 1 gear oil in my trans and said its the best so i dunno wif i should leave it in there or change to motor oil.

No, you can't, but honda does specify what weight motor oil can be used in the tranny.
