What do you guys think?? Any input on the engine build??
So I've decided to rebuild the B18C5 even though I've completely parted out my car and have nothing to put it in. Just wondering what the good folks of H-T have to say to this build. Here we go:
Block
-Bored out to 82mm
-JE 11.5.1 pistons
-EAGLE H-Beam "ESP" Connecting Rods
-Knife edged and balanced crank
-Planning on some AEBS or ARP Mainstuds
-Probably use OEM bearings
Head
-AEBS manifold
-BBK 70mm TB
-The rest is undecided right now. I guess this is where I'm looking for input. My plans are Buddy Club Spec IV cams and camgears along with a supertech or buddy club valvetrain. I suppose a port and polish with a 5 angle valve job would be nice also. Any better ideas, I'm saving right now and selling parts so hopefully sometime soon I'll get this head together.
-Planning some AEBS or ARP headstuds
-Powercore Header w/2.5" collector
Engine Management
-Hondata S200

i would also upgrade to some flat face high compression valves and new valvetrain, and a thiner head gasket, and possibly a better pnp job than what came from the factory
seems like a great build, cant wait to see dyno numbers

Don't bother wasting you money buy knife edging your crank. It's really not necessary. Use that money to buy a lightened flywheel and a nice clutch. If you want to go even futher like I did, buy an Civic Type R crank pulley. Use all OEM water and oil pumps and OEM timing belt. When needing to buy OEM parts, call LEN or Bert-O for discounts.
Were on the same page 85mm LS VTEC. The crank is already knife edged and balanced, it was like that when I bought the engine. I already a lightened flywheel and a better clutch. I've also got oem itr water pump and oil pump along with a ctr crank pulley. Thanks for the input.
