Umm...unscrew the screws on the big box attached to the intake hose.

Smart people know a k&n filter is not worth the money, or time spent changing the oil in it.

i figured i'd at least get one person giving smartass comments, so if i paid about $30k for this car, i could care less how much the k&n filter costs or what any of you think of it. all i know is that it's got a million mile warranty and will save me money from buying future paper filters.

the whole install process took only about 30 minutes, most of it spent on looking for my tools. my next mod is going to be probably fog lights. i think they'll look pretty nice.

Who cares if the fog lights work? as long as they look good. That explains a lot about the way you think. I wonder how many times you will open your hood just to show somebody your wonderful new air filter. What happend to your 8th gen Accord? Hahahaha

how do i think? i certainly don't trade engines with cars i don't own or try to build a 10 second 1/4 mile car with a family sedan - not saying you do, but that's what everyone else does. of course the fog lights are purely for looks, since last time i checked, most people don't get them because it's foggy. i'd rather have a nice and luxury car rather than a box on wheels that can beat vipers. pshh

could you please be useful, and post 900 posts worth of useful tips rather than trying to butt in everyone's business with your smartass comments. the only time i come to this forum is when i need help because i'm new to this car thing (everyone starts somewhere), and people like you put a bad rep to honda-tech, because it IS a tech forum, not a flame war.

First off I don't know where you get off calling people noobs.

Second you all need to calm your asses down. I don't think any of you all have an 06 accord so props for that! Third I don't find Blkflsh's comments sarcastic or insulting at all. He's saying you can do what you want and obviously concerned more about longevity and looks than performance. So everyone take the corncobs out of you butts and drink some more beer...it is new years last I checked.

Couple of thoughts:
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by PhongT12 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"> i certainly don't trade engines with cars i don't own or try to build a 10 second 1/4 mile car with a family sedan - not saying you do, but that's what everyone else does. of course the fog lights are purely for looks, since last time i checked, most people don't get them because it's foggy. i'd rather have a nice and luxury car rather than a box on wheels that can beat vipers. pshh</TD></TR></TABLE>

Alright Einstein, I honestly don't know who you've been talking to if you think that everyone with a honda swaps engines and their lifelong goal is to have a 10sec. car. And since when have fog light been <U>purely</U> for looks? Maybe you don't get fog in Georgia, but most other places do. So, check once again please. And finally, wow, you can beat a viper, which has almost the exact weight, even thought the Viper has twice the HP (244 vs. 500) as well as twice the torque (211 vs. 525) ?!? That must be one special K&N filter!

agree 100%

its always better to know for sure than to be guessing. even on something as simple as an air filter.

and as far as K&N go, if you have the money for one, i say go for it.

K&N air filters are less restrictive because they allow more crap into the engine. I would rather stick with a stock filter and save my engine for 300K of reliable service.............believe me Honda knows what they are doing when they design their cars........(except for the auto trans)

if you search hard enough, you can find a airflow vs. filtering test.

apex'i air filter proven to be the cleanest while delievering alot of air mass.

too bad they cost around 80 and they are not serviceable.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Ruskimafia &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">wow people these days dont even know how to install a air filter. what noobs!!</TD></TR></TABLE>

why you even here? people are here to ask question.

On this forum, your always going to get some smart asses and some misinterpreted people. Just don't take it personal. People say things sometimes and it's taken the wrong way. Don't let it get to you, or even waste time going back and forth with somebody. Just let it go. Life is to short for that.....At some point someone will answer your question.

Yeah, do some google searches if your question hasn't been answered. Type in k&n filter installation/ Honda accord 2006- or something like that.
