Default si distributor problems!

About a few months ago I completed my mpfi swap. Since then everything was running perfect until I started to do a little bit of racing and because I have the DX tranny ,shifting at 7200rpm(even though the powerband was dropping here *still using dx cam*) was vital to have some pull in the next gear. However shortly after I started reving high my first 91' si dizzy started making crunching sounds followed by CEL due to the sensors failing inside along with the shaft bearing.
I recently bought a good used si dizzy and continued on reving like usual and now I can hear a slight intermittent wisle(sounds like a shotty blower fan) coming directly from the dizzy.

Has anyone else encountered this type of premature demise of the ef si distributors when reving a little high. I know the dizzy is old and the parts are 15+ years so things tend to go pretty easy.
