i want an agressive high reving motor that is reliable and legal. i live in ca. need to pass. i was looking at gettting a gsr but i found that it is a litle pricey from hmotorsonline. i was wondering, i could save more than 1k if i buy a b16 instead of a gsr. if i put some higher compression pistons and more aggresive cams, do you think the b16 would be the same or better than the b18. in other words, with the money you save from the b16, could you invest in it and make it the same if not better than a b18.


the only thing i have yet to do is go to the junkyard. does the junkyard understand the value of a b18 and b16's or do they sell them for cheap?

 

i would go B16A...if you have the money B16B. Someone I know has a B16B in there EK...all i can say is....nothing sounds better.nice motor,when i get my ek og eg im going B16B worth the money.

 

you should really search bud, and the part about junkyards, I dont think your going to find b16s and gsr motors in the junkyard

for about the same price you could get a b18c5...and it sounds nicer than the ctr motor, with more performance also.

 

I hate factors...

A kid I know got a 97 Civic (54000 miles) with a GSR (25000) engine in it from an impound lot for $6500. It has a computer in the damn glovebox, lip kit, rims I don't know the brand of. I don't know, look at impound lots. Around my area, Civic engines are jacked constantly, this kid has been gloating and showing off so much, I bet as I type right now; it's being stolen.

Don't know man, I am looking around as well. It's going to take a lot of damn research and connections to find the perfect flawless deal.....but, it's out there somehwere
