If you want to go all out, you might as well go custom. It all depends on what you plan on doing though, because a kit would be much easier.

I will say custom all the way! I bought an FMax kit and started switching the parts right after I got it. If you piece together your own, not only will you get all the exact items you want, but it will come out to be cheaper! The only thing I am using from the orginial kit is the Manifold, intercooler, and piping. I have changed the turbo, wastegate, fuel management, etc. There are sooo many resources on this board to get your custom system. Manifolds, downpipes, you name it! It is really up to you, but I voted "Custom", you will be much happier!

Why is a custom turbo setup better than a kit?

you can pick the best turbo specs, manifold, wastegate, intercooler, BOV, and miscellaneous accessories. That way you have a "kit" with the best available parts in the market, for a little bit more than the cost of a premade kit (DRAG, FMAX, REV-HARD).

OR you can pick the most inexpensive turbo, manifold.....etc. and have a kit for 1/2 the price of a premade kit (DRAG, FMAX, REV-HARD)

If I was to go FI what price range would I have to spend to get it custom and right? Note that I have a jdm h22a so tunning would be difficult I know. Oh, also what psi could I safely run w/ a stock motor-10? Is it really worth it then? Fi is my dream that I have been having over and over and over...I think it is time to start saving- this summer that is. What kind of times could I expect w/ most/all of the bolt ons and this turbo? Let me know what you guys think. Thanks
