What were the circumstances of you getting pulled over in the first place?

i finish wireing vtec, took it out to test, i wasnt' even going fast, like around 20mph but high rpm he herd the noise so he pulled me over. its not the orignal motor, i swap out the original cx motor with a jdm d16a motor. it is not throwing any CEL codes. runs fine, had it smog and it passs. all sensor plugs in from old harness. what now?

Since you are in CA naziland, hell....it might be against local laws to have a JDM motor. thats why I moved back to teh east coast.

when i read the title of your thread, first thing i did was look at where your from. i saw the ca, they i just felt sorry for you. getting it refereed is a puta in CA. motor needs to be the same year or newer than the year of your car. you need the matching ecu, but im not sure about jdm motors. the motor has to have the same head and block, no mini-me's or ls-vtecs

No, you can have a JDM engine in your car in Cali. You just have to have all the smog stuff put on there to make it legal. Talk to Luserkid about this, he had his JDM b18c BARd a few years back. He knows pretty much everything about passing BAR.

Either that or the cop called a bluff.

Anyway, D16a, isnt that an obd0 motor? If its 94 and up you might be able to pass, either way i sent you a PM.

Sorry to hear that man. Up here in Canada we can do whatever the **** we want. Basically if the car is '94 and back it needs a cat (or maybe it was '93 and back).
