I need help removing a 1998 Accord stereo.
I have a 1998 Honda Accord ex I need to remove the stereo to make sure that all my speakers are hooked up, I noticed it has two screws right under the woodgrain trim, I took them off but I couldn't get the trim to move at all. Thanks for your help.
If you want and havent already, and if no one wants to explain it.. Try searching on here, I know for a fact people have asked the same question, that or google search it or something..
I have a 97 and i dont think they are the same generation , but all i did was take the two screws off under the cup holder (dont knwo if yorus has one) and then i just kept playing with it and poped the wood grain off *shrugs* im not sure if this helps.. but i gurantee you , if u search on google or on here u will find away.. that or if somone is nice enough to explain it that has the same gen.

ok, ill try and explain...
1. remove the clock by slipping a flathead screwdriver underneath and pry it off gently and disconnect it.
2. remove the hidden screw
3. remove the 2 screws underneath the trim.
4. you should be able to pull off the trim at this point. disconnect the AC controls.
5. i think you should be able to see the frame where your unit is mounted. there are either 2 or 4 screws, cant really remember. unscrew them.
6. once you get those out, pull the unit out and there you go.
i hope i got all of that, if i missed something or you need more help, ill go look at my crutchfield sheet, that thing was a life saver!

Thanks I'll try it tomorrow. Thanks zumiez007 but that's not the model that I have, I know it says it's for a 98 but I don't know, maybe I have a 99, I just bought it and the paper work says that it's a 98.
Ok, heres the 99-01 version. It looks a lot more like what you guys were talking about.

Yes I used this when I installed my CD player.
PM me if you have any questions, i installed it with my girlfriend one day after work
One word of advice: Get some tape, make a circle out of it, stick the bolts on the tape, and write where theyre from.
And the DIN thing, the CD player had one on it and it was tough to get off and tough to put on the new player. Just watch that and you should be good.
Ooh! Get a good set of wire crimpers and some gold connectors. Gold is good for audio and without a crimper (ideally one that will crimp as well as strip the wires).
Ideally you would solder the wires but gold connectors would be second best.

Here's the instructions I've used. It's actually the instructions for installing a trunk-mounted cd changer and tells you how to take out the radio and the center console, as well as getting the wire back to the trunk. For just removing the radio, start at step 20 and skip 22 & 23.
