Reverse Glow gauges
i have a 1999 accord EX sedan and i am trying to see if anyone has installed reverse glow gauges on their own car. I have no idea how to get the dash off or how to wire the new gauges. If anybody could help that would be great thanx.
2 screws at the top of the plastic piece. pull out from the top first, then bottom. (bottom snaps in)
4 screws holding the cluster in. you should be able to see them fairly easy. make sure your steering wheel is in its lowest position. pull the top out first (rotate downwards) and out a little bit. unplug the 3 connectors on the back. pull the rest of the way out.
your gauge cluster is now out of the car...

Its never that easy lol! Find a good manual like Helms, never done it myself but I know there's tons of hidden screws. And don't take the needles off the guages!
What do those things run by the way? A friend had a nice multicolor adjustable set but there wasn't a clean control box for it. He just had wires dangling and it looked like bad.

Actually, the 4 screws for the gauge cluster are pretty noticable. Probably the only screws on the car that ARE easy to find, haha.
2 on the bottom corners, and 2 along the top side.

Philadd is correct. However, be careful pulling out the plastic piece after unscrewing the top 2 screws. There are 2 clips that are pretty hard to "unsnap" at the bottom.
Also, once you take the cluster out, you have to take the clear plastic housing out, then the black trim that has a bulb attached to the the top, and then finally the black trim overlay.
I have the "indiglo" gauges. Got them way back in 99 when I first got my car and when they were new. Still look good and still get stares from other cars. HOWEVER, they might make your needles "stick" and won't move.
I regret it now, my fuel gauge is broken because of the glow gauge.

Sorry, forgot to mention. Any stereo/alarm shop should know how to install it and wire it for you correctly. Most involve a separate unit that needs to go into the dash so that you can adjust the brightness.

Thanx for all the input. I was also wondering if anyone has installed a short shift adapter? Does this make the shifter shorter or would I have to get a short throw shifter as well? Also i would need to know how to install it. anything would help. thanx
