17" rims on ek
just wondering if i should go with the current wheel setup i have now, i know that 16" and lower is much better but i got a great deal on it and couldn't pass it up. well the rims are new new new 17x7.5" rotas with 205/40/17 yokohama avs es 100 tires. also to run huge wheels like these id probably need lca's, height adjustable coils, and fr/rr camber kit anything else??
i have the 17's but wishing i had 16's...the offset of the wheels are 45 and i cant say how low ill go right now until the wheels are acutally on so i can see what looks right, i dont wanna purchase height set springs and end up with a 4x4....

and say goodbye to u-turns

I never heard of a subframe bending to actually let you turn. See civics don't have enough clearance between subframe and the gay 17 inch rim. So every fucken time that you decide to turn (make like little over half of turn) you will be rubbing like crazy. You will have to make 10 point turn arounds instead of 3. Your car is going to look gay, and god forbid your car is lowered.
Also you are prolly rocking a torqueless d series in there, so you will have to slip your clutch out of 5,000 rpm just to get the car to move from the stoplight.
Oh yeah everytime I see a civic (or better yet a CRX) on 17 it reminds me of a hot wheels car, because they do look like toy cars.
Other then that I don't see why you shouln't rock those.

You will not rub, especially if you're not lowered. 204/40/17's have the same diameter as the stock tires. You don't need anything special for the suspension to run 17's, just throw them on. You won't have to rev your engine to 5k just to move from a stop. Your car will probaly look like a truck when you put them on though, so I would suggest you lower it but if you're getting a good deal on the 17's then go for it.
You will NOT rub if you are using 42mm offset on 17x7's.
Personally, I prefer 16's or even 15's by far but there is too much mis information on here to let it slide for me. My 99 EM1 is dropped pretty far and I have no rubbing issues with the spec wheels I listed. I bought mine for next to nothing to have something different until I get the cash saved for my gram lites and I have no problems with them what so ever.

I do think they are too big and I can't wait to get rid of them for some 16x7 Rays but until then, I will rock em.
