Default 205/55-15s on EK

Has anyone successfully put 205/55-15s on a 96-2000 Civic?

I'm particularly interested in Kumho Ecsta Supra 712s. This size is only 1.7% larger than stock (.4" taller). Would it rub if the car is lowered moderately (1-1.2")?

I know most put 205/50-15s, but those seem too small for the wheel wells.

i am sure you can mount them but it will probably rub. just get your car re-aligned to prevent some rubbing.
good luck

if lowering 1"-1.2", it shouldn't rub... and also, it all depends on how low u go and what off-set the wheels are... good luck

The car is not lowered yet, will decide after putting the wheels/tires on.
Anyone knows the standard offset of Honda wheels (say 99-00 Si 15s)?

its not too small if you lower your car. IMO just stick with a 195/50/15 or a 205/50/15 or even a 195/55/15 if you have your heart set on 55 series...

Would the 205/50/15's rub on Del sol's too? I'm about to purchase the same set of tires for my Sol with 1.8" drop in the front, 1.6" drop in the rear.

Depends on the make of tire, too. I have a ~1.7" drop running 205/50-15 Kumho 712's and they don't rub.

My 195/55-15 Michelin Arctic Alpin Pilots rub plenty.

205/55-15 will make your wheels look like they belong on a Buick LeSabre.
