95 Civic, WON'T STAY RUNNING
My 95 Civic EX will turn over, but will not keep running. This started after I had put gas into the tank; it just died on the way home. After about 15 minutes of waiting, it finally ran long enough to get home, but on the way there, the gauges bounced and the dash lights dimmed (the headlights did not dim). Put a new fuel filter on=no change. Added 2 quarts of oil, had been dry. Does this model have an oil sensor? Any ideas?
Check you battery terminal connections, check for rust on the wires. Namely the grounding cable, after that give your car a protein shake
If it were the battery or connections, wouldn't there be no power at all? Could battery be going dead, or do they just <Kaputt!> and die?
i agree check grounds, but i doubt its just a bad battery because assuming all your wires were in good shape, your alternator would keep a steady stream of power to all electronics while the car was running. battery is only really needed for cranking the car and running electronics while the car is off.
