.015-.016" ring gap clearance too big

im getting .015-.016" for ring gap on .02 oversized pistons. just got back from machine shop and the bore measures good. i have aftermarket rings on jdm itr pistons going in an LS. helms says .014 max for LS. will i be ok running 15-16

I don't run more than .012 on 81-81.5mm NA, No more than .015 on 87mm
