Was the engine warm or cold? The valves could be adjusted too tight. How much is the gas mileage declining? Over how many miles did you average the mileage?

the car sat for about half 45 mins, then it was adjusted. I get like 90 miles from 4gal when i used to get like 120-130... not a big ddifference to me, but just curious

The engine should be cold (overnight) when you adjust the valves.

You need to average the mileage over a few tankfuls to get accurate data. Has the air temperature dropped recently?

Max temp for valve adjustment is 100*F. If the engine is too warm then the valves will be adjusted too loose not allowing for max lift/duration. In my experiences, 45 mins is not enough to adequeately cool the engine unless you had the valve cover off with a fan blowing at the engine.
