Default 1989 4speed vtec motor???

whats good honda tech, theres an ef on ebay for sale and the seller is saying it has a 4 speed vtec motor, i didnt think honda made a 4 speed vtec motor in manual transmission. check it out on ebay and also let me kno if im wrong and honda did make a 4 spd man tranny

No USDM 1989 Civic/CRX/Sedan was vtec.

I am assuming he has the civic STD model. Which would mean you swapped in a vtec motor (maybe a d16z6?) and kept his 4spd manual.

It is stupid, but I think he was maybe aiming for better gas mileage.

that looks like one dirty *ss D16z6 to me, and it also looks like it was leaking a ton of coolant on the intake manifold at some point, that car looks hacked i'd stay away from it. if your gonna deal with a mess then make it be your own not someone else's

It could be a d16z6 swap on a baseline EF. They had 4 speed trannys. At least mine and my brothers did. Just a thought.

Guys its obvious that it is 4 speed only because 5 gear doesnt work!!
