indexing spark pugs on a jdm d15b???
i was wondering which way do i point the spark plugs when i am indexing the plugs ona a jdm d15b???towards the intake side or the exhause side???is it the same on a d16y8 and z6???
Ideally the plug should be facing the the intake valves. What that means is the open side of the plug (opposite of the electrode prong) faces the intake valves. This promotes a much better air+fuel burn.
Correct me if I'm wrong...It's the same direction with both the D15 and the Z6.

the threading is different on all spark plugs and no matter where you start twisting, the plug can only go in 1 way only and will end up at the same spot everytime you tighten it.
do not attempt to torque that **** to face the right direction either, you'll strip threads like 3rd gear VTEC.
ideally, they are to face the exhaust side i believe. i read somewhere: because the mixture travels to the highest temperature point which is the exhausts valves.

Sometimes when tightening your plugs, they will be positioned correctly.
For those times they do not line up, you will need to purchase<U> spark
plug indexing washers</U>. These work by varying the thickness of the washer,
allowing more or less threading rotation; thus aligning the plugtowards the intake valves.

The arm should be facing the intake side so the incoming air doesn't blow out the spark...but i think this only becomes necessary on high boost applications, but it doesn't matter because you can't index the plugs anyways.

i tighten all mine by hand and not a rachet. i've been reading lots about it because i wanted to attempt this yesterday. you need some sort of copper washer that "crushes" and if you ever lose it, good luck getting it out. magnets no stick to copper. lol
