Default 5th Gen Prelude Oil leak?

Recently had an oil change bout two weeks ago using synthetic/valvo with new fram oil filter. the oil level was around the second, high marking on the dipstick. today ive checked the oil again, and it is at the lower line, near the first dot on the dipstick. this is after around 1,400 miles of travelling. im assuming it lost around 1 quart of oil since i just refilled it with bout 1 more quart. there is no apparent leaks that i can see leaking to the ground. ive checked the seals and there seems to be some brown oil residue near the alternator. but i'll get a better examination soon. consumer report did state that there was a oil leak problem with 97 preludes.

"Oil leak: Sudden oil loss and resultant severe engine damage could be the result of front balance shaft oil plug popping out."
just wondering if this is the issue im having or maybe something else.
thnx in advance!
