Default asr subframe brace install problems

im trying to install the asr subframe brace on my ek. (96-00). i took off my sway bar, then took off the controll arm bolts.

now, i lined up the asr brace, and im trying to put the control arm bolts back in. (the ones that go through the subframe). however, the holes arent lining up.

ive tried everything i can think of to help line them up, but its not working. i can get the bolt all the way to the nut, but its not lined up, so its not screwing in.

has anyone had this problem?

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this is a common problem not just on the ek.

what you need to do is unscrew the 14mm bolt that connects to the end of the rear lca and the trailing arm. take that screw out so your real lca is off the car, then put the lca where it connects to the subframe on loosely, then jack up the rear trailing arm so it meets the end of the lca hole then put that screw in. then when all the bolts are in and the subframe brace is on. lower the car (or load the suspension, then tighten down) once its lowered torque everything down. (basically take all three lca bolts off then jack the trailing arm up so all the holes line up, including your rear shock hole)

everyone goes through this because the trailing arm is forced down you need to lift it up to take the load off it, then put the lca on..

its also a good idea when the trailing arm is up on the jack to line up your rear sway bar and put the screws in the lca at this time. then when the car is lowered on the grown tighten the endlinks
