Default k20 Swap Pricing

Is it possible to get a Jdm k20a swap with everything needed to install it into a del sol for around $6k?

ive seen some personal for sale ads for around this price but was wondering if they could be purchased through a company with everything needed for around 6k or if its gonna be rape buying new parts from company's.

just curious

for 6grand you would need one hell of a hook up!!!

Now when we say everything to put it in, are you talking a complete swap?? Or the mounts, axles, new fuel lines, etc etc?? I think the only way you will beat 6grand for everything you need to install it RIGHT, is you custom fab alot of your own parts, have a hook-up on parts and you are super patient and piece together the motor looking for deals.

The cheapest i have heard of a k20a going for is 5200, i personally payed 5700 for the motor with harness, tranny, shifter box, and shift cables.

no dice, not unless you hold some one up that already has the car, then spend 6grand changing the vins and idetity of the vehicle

you could actually do it cheaper. just pay someone like 150$ to weld a k series valve cover on your single cam. oh yeah, youll need antoher 150 for the vavle cover and to throw everyone off a bit more, you can buy a 6 speed shift ****. lol. jk man no , you cant, damn near impossible. sorry.lol

We are talking about the K20-R right??? Where did u buy your k stuff from? I know hmotors charges like 5600-5500 for the Type R swap, and I think it comes with everything you listed, except maybe the cables and shifter box......hopefully they will gradually get cheaper and cheaper.......I know the Type-S k20's are going for around 4000 at Hmotors, and 3800 from Tom at Camp1320......

If you already have the needed hardware, you do the install/wiring yoruself, and get a hookup on an EMS.....you MIGHT be able to do it for 6k.

If he were to do the Type-S K20, he might be able to manage the 6k..........but all the wiring and install would have to be done by himself.

You can get all the parts you need for the swap for under 6 easy. The motor is going to cost you another 4-5k depending on where you get it and what you get it for.

Do you have a swap right now?

yea, at the moment im running a jdm b18c swap with some minor up's, runs strong i just want more

just looking at options because i dont wanna mess with turbo-charging a motor that was made to scream na, and id rather keep the reliability of a honda motor with basic bolt on's

looks like the k20a swap is exactly what i need

id rather look into a k20a swap with bolt on's and tuning and call it a day then get my R head built and make less power, i like things in there OEM form

but btw: i was talking about getting everything needed including the motor and everything for 6k

paying 10k for a k20a swap would be outragous unless you were paying a shop to do everything and supply everything

there was a shop on honda-tech that did a k20a swap in a del sol and charged him 6k for everything, that included all parts and labor

^^^ BS....a K20A motor/trans sells for about 5k. The average price from what I've seen for a full K swap including parts & labor generally runs around 8k.

Well, let's think about this for a minute.

I guess you could get a new K20A* for $4000 if you buy it directly from Spoon ($3800 + discount shipping and pray for no port hassles).

Find an old Type S six speed with open diff for a couple hundred.

HASport for the axles and header. Wait for a really good KPro sale and get to know the tuner really well.

Maybe. But only maybe.

To be absolutely sure of everything, you're going to spend a little more.

I went to Hmotorsonline. he threw in the cables and shifter box for an extra 100 bucks. And yes i got the k20R

You said "Thru a Company" not used in classifieds i take it, So im guessing with some good deals your gonna be looking at this to get that K20 in his car

K20a2 swap (motor, tranny, ecu) =3800
Mounts (Hasport)= 500
Wiring Harness (Hasport or Hybrid-racing)=350
Axles ( Hasport or DSS or hybrid stage 1)=350
Header ( Dc Sports or DTR budget)=400-550
Intake = 100
Fuel Regulator, rail, etc = 300
Radiator Relocator =100 ??
Karcept Shifter Box = 150
Hoses and Misc Stuff = 300

I think thats over 6 grand, and i havent even got around to Kpro and im taking the cheapest route that i can personally think of and would actually try.

I dont know if your talking about this thread, but you asked people a question, and people have been responding with their input that YOU asked for......so I dont know what "post ******" you are talking about.

Didnt you just ask about prices from a company????? Not from a bunch of classifieds that you found on Honda-Tech...........

From a company.....there is no way you can get a k20-R swap with EVERYTHING you need for less that 6k.

Lol, yeah it never ceases to amuse me when folks ask for input and then get all pissy when they don't hear what they want to hear.

I've learned to get used to it here on Honda-Tech.

6k.. no way it is a pipedream.... maybe with a k24a/k20a2 and you have to do all the work and assemble the motor as well.

here;s my tsx shortblock $1000

here's with JDM k20a ITR tranny $1500 , 06 Civic Si manifold $150 and k20a2 head $700

With cams, alternator, starter, clutch, flywheel, gaskets, bla bla bla whatver is needed to make it complete.... it cost me around $3500 with type r cams.... and that motor will do better than the k20a type r. So you can do it with the right parts...

Of course, hondata is another $850 and so on.... 6K is still cutting it close.
