How do I install a new airbag? Do I need a new module? Does the SRS light have to be turned off (or will installing the new one take care of that)? Are there any chances of deployment when I install?

Any general information would be helpful. I have ordered a new airbag and I want to make sure it doesn't deploy when I complete the install.

disconnect the battery first, i installed an airbag on a miata and it hasn't blown yet.

 

oops. 1993 Honda Civic LX. I have also unplugged the SRS fuse.

 

It is also the driver side.

 

There's a safety connector under a plastic cover just behind the steering wheel.

 

Will I need to do anything with the sensors?
